Kerk en toren
De kerk, vroeger gewijd aan Laurentius, heeft waarschijnlijk een voorganger gehad, gesticht door Liudger. Van de huidige kerk dateert het oudste, tufstenen, deel uit de twaalfde eeuw.
Over dit gebouw
The church, formerly dedicated to Laurentius, probably had a predecessor founded by Liudger. The oldest part of from the present church dates from the twelfth century. The newer, eastern part from the thirteenth century and made of brick.
The interior is covered by a dark painted beamed solarium but is still very light thanks to all the pointed arch and round arch windows. The freestanding, robust tower was built around 1300 and raised in 1500. There is a cachot on the ground floor. In the tower hangs a loud bell that was cast by Geert van Wou in 1502 and in the roof rider on the tower hangs a so-called 'hum' mummy clock.
The church is rented by the Reformed Church in Baflo, Rasquert and Tinallinge. It has an organ that was built by Roelf Meijer in 1876 and has since undergone a number of restorations and modifications.
