Basilica di San Nicola in Carcere

San Gregorio della Divina Pietà is a small church first mentioned in 1403. In 1729 the church was restored according to the plans of Filippo Barigioni, commissioned by Pope Benedict XIII Orsini di Gravina and entrusted to the Congregation of the Workers of the Divine Piety, hence its name. In 1858 the church was restored and a bilingual Hebrew and Latin inscription with a passage from the Bible was placed on the façade. The church is famous for the compulsory sermons that were imposed on Jews during the papal reign.

The Basilica of San Bartolomeo all'Isola was built around the year 1000 to house the relics of the apostle Saint Bartholomew. The Basilica of St. Bartholomew is today the place of commemoration of the "new martyrs" of the twentieth century: to mention just a few examples, the basilica celebrates Bishop Óscar Arnulfo Romero and Cardinal Juan Jesús Posadas Ocampo, killed by drug traffickers, the evangelical pastor Paul Schneider and farmer Franz Jägerstätter, opponents of Nazism.

The church of San Giovanni Calibita was founded in 1584 on an ancient church mentioned as early as the 11th century. The 16th-century church was renovated in 1640, the façade was completed in 1711 and the interior in 1742. The rich interior decoration is the work of Corrado Giaquinto.
