If the foundation of the Carmelite Church of Warsaw dates back to the 17th century, its famous neoclassical façade was built later on in 1761-1783. The church takes its name from the Order of the Discalced Carmelites who built the orginel building.
St. Anne's Church, begun in 1454, is one of the oldest buildings in Warsaw. Its neoclassical appearance has remained unchanged since 1788.
One of the main monuments of Warsaw, the Holy Cross Church was built in 1682. Damaged during the Second World War, it was repaired after the war and still fulfills its role of church for the missionary brothers from Vincent de Paul.
As an arch-Cathedral, Saint John is the most important church in Warsaw and one of the oldest, dating back to 1390. Completely destroyed during the Second World War, the building was rebuilt according to Jan Zachwatowicz's plans between 1948 and 1956. The building is now classified by UNESCO.
