Chapel of du Puy-Mary, Mauriac
Building built on the foundations of a medieval chapel dedicated to Saint-Mary. The present edifice dominates the great pilgrimage site to Saint Mary that was the volcanic hill of the eponymous Puy for more than eight centuries.
About this building
On the Puy Mary, stands a chapel (19th c.), rebuilt on the foundations of a medieval chapel built by the monks of the monastery of Saint-Pierre de Mauriac. With a simple plan, an arrow rises above the portal while a semicircular apse chapel completes the building.
