Being one of the tallest structures in Croatia, this cathedral is one of the symbols of the city of Osijek. It is a neo-gothic style cathedral built in the 19th century. It has very colorful frescoes on the interior that were completed in the 1940s. The church suffered heavy damage due to fighting in the 1990s.
The Synagogue in Lower town of Osijek is an Ashkenazi synagogue built in 1903 by the architect Wilim Carl Hofbauer. This Neo-Romanesque brick building has been transformed into a church.
There is no information about the existence of an organized Jewish community in Jagodnjak. The abandoned Jewish cemetery has five tombstones. The oldest grave dates from 1897 and the latest from 1902.
The cemetery has 10 gravestones, the oldest one from 1893 and the latest from 1921. The site is surrounded by a metal mesh fence with a concrete gate, installed by ESJF in October 2017.
