De Wingerd

Since December 2000, the parish of Sint-Martinus has had its own church building, De Wingerd. Catholics and Protestants jointly own this special church building and use it together. In the Huet district, there has been a close bond with the PKN branch in Doetinchem for years: the Protestant Community of Doetinchem (PGD). In 2011, the parish presented a new policy plan for the period up to approximately 2016. Changes have been noticeable for a long time and are now also noticeable in the range of services. On 15 June 2012, the archbishop determined that the church centre De Wingerd would be withdrawn from Roman Catholic worship as of 1 January 2013. The Church Centre De Wingerd is also used by other churches, including the Protestant Community of Doetinchem. Services are held regularly and a working group organises ecumenical theme services every month.

Grote of Catharinakerk

The church was built around 1200 and was dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria. At the end of the Middle Ages, Doetinchem was regularly hit by fires. The largest fire on 19 April 1527 was caused by a baker who wanted to dry flax in the oven. Almost the entire city centre, including Saint Catherine's Church, was lost. The current hall church was built during the reconstruction. In March 1945, the centre was hit by a bombardment. The church was seriously damaged. In 1948, the church was restored, still without a tower, and in 1963 the reconstruction of the tower was completed.

Hofkerk

After the former church of the Apostolic Society from 1898 was demolished, a new church was built in 1980. In 2014, the Apostolic Society of Doetinchem merged with Velp/Arnhem. The church building was then put into use by the Hofkerk community. Since 1994, people in Doetinchem have also been worshipping under the name Gereformeerde Bond (GB). This movement within the Dutch Reformed Church joined the merger into the Protestant Church in the Netherlands in 2004. In Doetinchem, this group is fully part of the Protestant community. Here, it has the status of a district community: the Hofkerk community.
