Beautiful historic village church with tower. Originally dedicated to St. Martin. Wooden facade tower from the first half of the 19th century. Since the beginning of 2008, this Martinus church is one of the six church buildings of the merged Protestant Community of Trynwalden.
Characteristic Reformed church building. Renovation and extension 1907, entrance changed 2004. The Reformed Church from 1874 has been renovated. The pews have been replaced by chairs. The main entrance has been changed and the carpeting has been replaced. On Sunday 7 November 2004 the church was put back into use. (54-05) The church is used as a church of the PKN, with the name Ontmoetingskerk.
The Van Oeckelen organ in the Protestant church, donated in 1871 by Mr. SP Baron Van Heemstra, resident of the Heemstra State, was restored by Bakker & Timmenga and put back into use on Sunday 13 March 2005. This church is listed as a National Monument of the Netherlands.
The Pauluskerk is a Protestant church which dates from the 12th century. The church tower was built in the 13th century. It is listed as a National Monument of the Netherlands.
