Kruiskerk
Dutch Reformed Church, called Kruiskerk, with attached consistory and youth building, built in 1957-1963 by order of the Church Council of the Dutch Reformed Community of Klazienaveen to a design by the Amsterdam architect H. Knijtijzer. The church's bell tower is situated in a defining position in the axis of the Van Echtenstraat. In 1955 Knijtijzer had designed the Dutch Reformed school and in 1957 the youth building. In 1959 Knijtijzer complemented the composition of school, youth building with the church. In 1966 the school had plans to expand. However, the school board found it unnecessary to bring in an architect from Amsterdam for a small expansion and asked the local architect J. van de Heiden. Knijtijzer did not agree with the design.
