The St. Servaasbasiliek (Basilica of Saint Servatius) is a Romanesque, three-aisled cruciform basilica built between the 11th and 12th centuries in the city centre of Maastricht. It is considered the oldest still-standing basilica in the Netherlands. It is believed that the first temple was erected above the relics of Saint Servatius.
The 13th-century Dominican Church in Maastricht, now Boekhandel Dominicanen, showcases magnificent Gothic architecture, including ceiling and wall paintings. It served as a monastery before becoming a bookstore in 2006.
The Synagogue in Maastricht is an Ashkenazi synagogue built in 1839-40 by architect Mathijs Hermans. The synagogue was restored between 1964 and 1967 by G.J.W. Snelder. This brick building in the Neo-Classical style still serves as a synagogue.
