The Curtea Veche Church, built between 1545 and 1554, is the oldest church in Bucharest. The edifice served for two centuries as a coronation place for the princes of Wallachia. The Serbian-style edifice was influenced by the church of the Cozia Monastery.
St. John the New is an 18th century church half-hidden between two blocks of flats in the centre of Bucharest.
The Stavropoleos Church is an orthodox church belonging to a monastery built in the Brancovian style in the 18th century. The Stavropoleos church is on the list of historical monuments of Romania.
The Colţea Church, in the city center of Bucharest, is a National Monument. Built in the second half of the 17th century, it is of a typical Brâncoveanu style.
