Viksdalen Church

Built around 1620, the Viksdalen church is a reconstruction from 1847-48. In 1889, the church was rebuilt again and received spiers, a new choir and new colours inside. Until 1960 the church was called Vik, but in 1960 both the church and the parish changed its name to Viksdalen, mainly to avoid confusion with Vik in Sogn.

Hestad Chapel

The Hestad chapel was built in 1805, and the old church in Viksdalen is believed to have served as a model. The roof and tower were originally higher than they are today, but they were destroyed by a heavy storm in 1864, so a new roof and tower were built. Since 1805, the interior of the chapel has changed little. Everything except the pulpit and the altarpiece is unpainted.

Høyanger Church

The church in Høyanger dates from 1960. It was designed by architects Arnstein Arneberg and Olav Platou and was built and fully financed by the Norwegian Aluminium Company and given as a gift to the local community.
