The Hoeggen church was built for the anniversary of the city in 1997 (the foundation of the city dates back to 997) and was consecrated on October 12th of that year. The church was designed by Arkitektkontoret Madsø & Sveen in Trondheim, who also designed Herøy Church in Sunnmøre and Grymyr Church in Hadeland.

Strinda Church, also known as the Church of Moholt, is a wooden church from 1900 designed by Solberg og Christensen.
Tempe church was built in 1960 by architect L.R.Tønseth sen.
The Deaf Church in Trondheim is a long church from 1927, designed by architect Roar Tønseth. The church has rich interior decoration, including fresco painting on concrete by Ole Teien and Oskar Hokstad.
