Askim Church is a wooden cruciform church dating back to 1878. Its predecessor was a Romanesque stone church from the Middle Ages. It was probably built around 1200 and is first mentioned in written sources in 1336. The present church was built in 1877-78 as a cruciform log church, based on a somewhat modified model of the Båstad church, which was designed by Christian H. Grosch.
