Hejde Church

Hejde Church is one of the 92 medieval churches on the island of Gotland.

About this building

The tower and the nave are the oldest parts of the church, built in the 13th century. The church has some mural paintings from the 13th and 14th century. Throughout the 19th century several restoration works took place. Its artefacts include a Romanesque baptismal font (from the same date of the construction of the church), a rood cross from the 16th century,
