St Giles, situated in the tiniest of hamlets, 12 miles east of Lincoln is the birthplace of Stephen Langton, Archbishop of Canterbury from 1207-1228 and a central figure in the drafting and signing of Magna Carta in 1215 at Runnymede.

St Oswald

This grey stone church is dedicated to St Oswald, whose noble example and devoted labours had done so much to secure the establishment of Christianity in the north of England. He was uncle to Osthryd , the wife and queen of King Ethelred of Mercia and believed to be founder of Bardney Abbey. When Oswald died, Osthryd brought his honoured relics to the Abbey.
