The Azizija Mosque was built in 1862, at the time when many Muslims from Serbia emigrated to the area of Brčko. The mosque is named after Sultan Abd - ul Aziz, who was in power at the time.
In October 1943, the mosque was almost destroyed, and it was destroyed during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1993. years. The Brcko District Government invested in reconstruction, which was completed in 2016.
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was built between 1883 and 1885. It was severely damaged during the First World War. The new church was built next to the old one in 1933 according to Karl Paržik's design. In 1934 another sacristy was added. Albert Gruber was hired to create frescoes and wall decorations.
It is known that the Atik mosque, or Sava mosque, existed before 1651. From the very name Atik, which means old in Turkish, we can conclude that it is the oldest mosque in Brcko. It was originally made of wood and has been enlarged over time due to the increase in the number of believers in the city. The entire mosque was demolished on July 17, 1992. It was renovated in 2006 in its original form.
The Dzemat Klanac Mosque is a Muslim place of worship belonging to the Klanac congregation in Brčko.
