Azizija Mosque, Kostajnica

Azizija Mosque (Azizija džamija) is a historic mosque in Kostajnica, originally built in 1862 by Ottoman Sultan Abdul-Aziz. The mosque was destroyed in 1992 and rebuilt in 2008.

About this building

The mosque was rebuilt with the same appearance as the pre-war one. Its minaret has an octagonal cross-section and is one of the tallest at 67 meters. The mosque also has an inner dome.

Sisak Cathedral

The present building of Sisak Cathedral dates back to the first half of the 18th century. Traces of it can be found in canonical visits from 1702 to 1760 when the bell tower was built. The church was consecrated in 1765. After the earthquake of 1909, the old baroque facade was replaced by a new one, executed in the neoclassical style with art nouveau details.

Banova Jaruga Jewish Cemetery

The Jewish cemetery in Banova Jaruga was established in the 19th century and was later abandoned after World War II. The oldest found burial dates to 1915, and the latest to 1933. One of the most interesting monuments in the cemetery is the Rehnicer family ohel, built at the beginning of the 20th century in the Jewish Classicism architectural style.
