Brionnet Church, Saurier

The chapel is of Romanesque foundation, but the present building dates from the 17th and 19th centuries. It seems to have belonged to the larger ensemble of a medieval castle. Remains have been found under the chapel.

About this building

The chapel is oriented and organised according to a longitudinal plan. It is composed of a nave ending in a semicircular apse, and a bell tower. The choir is vaulted in a cul-de-four, and pierced by a single semicircular opening.
