About this building
Some renovation work has taken place since the beginning of the 20th century. Particularly at the end of the 1920s, the building appeared to be in poor condition. The severe earthquake of 1953 damaged the building, but not to the extent that it affected other buildings in the region. During the earthquakes of 1995 and 1996, the structure of the building suffered severe damage and the minaret collapsed. The damage was repaired in the following years.
