The church of Herz Jesu was built from 1905 to 1912. The neo-gothic brick church has two 62 m high towers. In 1969 the church square and the stairs were renovated and in 1994 the restoration of the organs was completed. In addition, the church was equipped with underfloor heating in the early 1990s.
The Church of St. Gallen stands on a site where churches have been erected since the 5th century. Mention is made of the Church of St. Gallen in 1079 when the Mehrerau Monastery was founded and we know that the church was consecrated in 1380. After a fire in 1477, the church had to be rebuilt and was consecrated again in 1480. In 1737, a reconstruction according to the plans of Franz Anton Beer was carried out with new furnishings and equipment for the church. In 1939 a restoration took place, from 1968 to 1972 on the outside and from 1973 to 1974 on the inside.
Wettingen-Mehrerau Abbey was built in 1227 by Ulrich X, Count of Bregenz. During the Thirty Years' War, the abbey was devastated by the Swedes and was in great need of repair. In 1738 the reconstruction of the church was completed and the monastic buildings were built between 1774 and 1781. In February 1807, the church was closed and the remaining buildings were auctioned off. Between 1808 and 1809 the church was demolished.
The Rochus Chapel was built in 1592-93 by the town's master builder, Jerg Loßher, and dedicated to St. Rochus. The interior of the chapel consists of a lightly vaulted wooden ceiling with 66 painted panels dating from 1598.
