Church of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Krużlowa

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Krużlowa Wyżna was built in 1520, funded by Jan Pieniążek.

About this building

At the end of the 18th century, the late-Gothic church was transformed in the Baroque style. Two late-gothic portals are topped with arches shaped in the so-called donkey's back, while the stone portal to the sacristy - with an arch in the shape of a truncated trefoil. On the ceiling in the nave there is a Gothic-Renaissance polychrome from around 1520, reconstructed in 1894. Carved rosettes can be seen in the ceiling coffers in the presbytery. The walls of the nave and the chapel are covered with polychrome, made in 1942 by Józef Dutkiewicz
