Church of Notre-Dame de la Couture
The church of Notre-Dame de la Couture was part of a rich abbey built outside the walls. It was built in two programs: first from 1060 and then around 1160.
About this building
Located in the current city centre, the church has a large western massif framed by two very different towers. The other buildings of the abbey are juxtaposed to the church. La Couture has a common architecture with the cathedral of Angers, despite the fact that the church is not built of limestone. Their plans were approximately the same.
