Church of Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul, Guise

The church of Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul de Guise was almost completely rebuilt in 1535. It underwent numerous modifications during the wars of the 16th century and during the 17th and 18th centuries.

About this building

An ogival vault covers the entire building. The entrance is through a north portal, richly decorated in a flamboyant Gothic style. Large bays with flamboyant fillings also open up the interior of the building.

Church of Notre-Dame de l’Assomption de Lavaqueresse

The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption Lavaqueresse, in the department of Aisne, dates from the seventeenth century. Built during a time of a succession of wars, it is a fortified church that could house the surrounding population in times of need. In the choir, we can admire vaults dating from the sixteenth century: they are decorated with floral and royal motifs, which were painted in 1899.

Church of Sainte-Benoîte

The Sainte-Benoîte church is located in Lerzy, in the Hauts-de-France region. This fortified church was built in the late twelfth century. The bell tower remains from this time, and is listed as a historical monument. The building, in its current form, dates from the 16th and 17th centuries. On March 11, 2014, a fire destroyed the roof and caused extensive interior damage. Note the classified burial slab of Louis de Fournier, the Lord of Lerzy, who died in 1756.
