Church of Saint-Sulpice, Willeman
The Church of Saint-Sulpice in Willeman et son Cimetière was built in the 15th century. It is probably the most remarkable architectural element of the church is its bellow-porch.
About this building
Restored numerous times by the Lhoste family in the 17th-18th centuries then by the architect Clovis Normand in the 19th century, the tower and its bell tower take up the codes of the fortification (watchtowers and terrace) which recall the defensive role that have the church during the wars of Artois.
The stained glass windows of the choir are composed of twin pointed arch windows topped by an oculus decorated with a Greek cross. The composition of the scenes takes up the traditional codes of the 19th century: the stained glass windows reflect the paintings.
