Church of Sainte-Foi

The Sainte-Foi church is located in Sainte-Foi, in Occitania. This small church, from which one can see the Pyrenees, is perched on top of a hill that offers a magnificent view of the surrounding landscapes. The oldest part of the church, the apse and the flat buttresses, dates back to the 11th century. It is probably an old possession of the Abbey Sainte-Foy Conques.
The nave, with an arched gate on the south side, was erected in the 14th century. The sacristy and the porch date back to the 19th century. Inside, there is a terracotta floor, a holy water font and a monolithic baptismal font. The choir, highlighted by an interesting billet frieze, also contains traces of 14th century frescoes featuring biblical characters. An atmosphere of serenity and contemplation emerges from this church.
