The Church of St. John the Baptist is also known as the Church of Trnovo because of its location in the Trnovo district of Ljubljana. The present church was built in the neo-historic style between 1854 and 1855, but was heavily damaged in the 1895 earthquake and subsequently rebuilt.
The Church of the Ursulines of the Holy Trinity was built between 1718 and 1726. The baroque building is the work of the architect Carlo Martinuzzi. The original facade consists of colossal three-quarter pillars, between which the wall with the windows is more or less deep. It is completed by a front modelled on the model of the Roman architect Borromini.
The Church of the Annunciation, also called the Franciscan Church, is a monastery church located next to the standing Franciscan monastery. It was built between 1646 and 1660 on the site of the former church of St. Martin built by the Augustinians. At the end of the 18th century, with the Josephine reforms, the Augustinian order was abolished and the church and monastery were installed by the Franciscans, who still own the entire complex today.
The St. Nicholas Cathedral of Ljubljana was built from 1701 to 1706 on an ancient church site. The cathedral is among the most important baroque monuments in the country.
