Church of the Transfiguration, Krynica Zdrój

The auxiliary church of the Transfiguration and Our Lady of Częstochowa was built in 1863 as the first spa church (the so-called chapel on "Dietlówka").

About this building

The temple was designed by the architect F. Księgarski in the Baroque style. It was built in a log construction, on an octagonal plan combined with a Greek cross, and covered with a shingled roof with a lantern. The church is equipped with two altars from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries with images of Our Lady of Częstochowa and the Transfiguration of Jesus. At the temple there is a wooden cross from 1910, commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald.
