Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior, Chisinau
The Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior or Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Savior is an Orthodox place of worship in Chisinau. It is listed in the register of monuments of history and culture of the municipality of Chisinau.
About this building
The cathedral was built between 1898-1902. It has a Greek cross plan with four pillars on which the circular drum of the dome rests. The exterior is inspired by the Russian-Byzantine style. During the Soviet era, the building was used as a planetarium.
