The cathedral of Cingoli was built in the middle of the 17th century. The present church, however, is built on the site of a pre-existing cult building dedicated to the Holy Saviour. This was demolished in the first half of the seventeenth century for the construction of the present church, based on the plans of the architect Ascanio Passeri from Pergola; the façade of the previous church was inserted on the left side of the present building.
The present Treia Cathedral building was constructed between 1782 and 1814 according to the plans of the architect Andrea Vici. It has a Greek cross plan with three naves, divided by Corinthian columns and pillars. It has a large crypt. The church was damaged after the earthquake that hit central Italy in 2016.
The Cathedral of San Severino was probably founded in the 13th century for the Augustinians. It preserves the 15th-century facade, a Gothic portal decorated with terracotta remains of frescoes attributed to Lorenzo d'Alessandro. The vast interior was reduced to its present state in 1776 and 1827 when the Augustinian church was transformed into a cathedral.
The Chiesa di San Francesco (Church of Saint Francis) dates from the second half of the 13th century. On the back of the church stands an iconic tower with three clocks that can be seen from Piazza della Libertá. The interior preserves a set of frescoes dating from the 14th to the 17th century. The church was closed after the earthquake that hit this region of Italy in 2006.
