The Roman Catholic Church of St. Ludgerus was built in 1882-1883 to a design by WVA Tepe (1840-1920) in a design language based on the Lower Rhine Gothic style. The Neo-Gothic three-aisled basilica is made of dark red brick in cross bond on a dark red transom window and is covered by a mesh roof with anthracite-coloured slates. The outsides of the gutter fascias are covered with scale-shaped slates.
