Didsbury Mosque is a place of worship of the Muslim community housed in a Gothic building that formerly belonged to the Methodist Church.
The red brick building that houses the mosque was inaugurated in 1883 as the Albert Park Methodist Chapel. Following the closure of the chapel in 1962 the building was transformed into The Manchester Islamic Centre.
The Withington Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue in Manchester is a Sephardi synagogue built in 1925-27 by architect Delissa Joseph. This brick building in Neo-Classical style still serves as a synagogue.
St Nicholas church is a Grade II* listed building. It was the first church designed by the architect Nugent Francis Cachemaille Day. In 1931, the foundation stone was laid and the ‘old' hall was built and used for services. In 1932 the building was completed at a cost of £11,600. From 1963/64 an extension was added to create choir stalls to the rear of the building.
The South Manchester Synagogue is an Ashkenazi synagogue built in 1912-13 by architect Joseph Sunlight. This stone building in the Art Deco and Neo-Byzantine style still serves as a synagogue. The building was recently restored in 2003.
