Kyrenia, CY
The Agia Varvara church is located approx. 700 m west of the old port on an elevation. The area around the church is a restricted military zone. The church lies within a military post and has been converted into a mosque; from the distance the church seems to be in a rather fair state of preservation.
Livera , CY
The Church with the ekklesionym Agioi Konstantinos kai Eleni is located in the southwestern part of the old village centre. The church was converted into a mosque sometime after 1974. In 2012 a new mosque was built in the village. Since then the church is abandoned.
Florina, GR
The connected island of Agios Ahillios is a site steeped in history. Indeed, in the 10th century, this islet was one of the centres of Bulgarian imperial power, at which time it preserves the massive ruins of the Basilica of St. Achilles. South of the site are still several other churches and monasteries.
Agios Amvrosios, CY
The church is located right in the centre of the village and was built in 1867; after 1974 it was converted into a mosque.
Trimithi, CY
The parish church with the ekklesionym Agios Charalambos is located right in the centre of the old village on the road to Karmi village. The building itself is in a good condition.
Agridaki, CY
The parish church with the ekklesionym Agios Charalambous is located in the centre of the small village. The condition is good and some renovations took place in recent times.
Agios Epiktitos, CY
The small chapel was built at the beginning of the 1970s. Today it is located to the east of the village centre in a casino complex.
Agios Amvrosios, CY
The Agios Dimitianos Chapel is located approx. Three kilometers northwest of the village of Agios Amvrosios directly on the sea. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century, today not in active use.
Larnakas tis Lapithou, CY
The Church with the ekklesionym Agios Dimitrianos, (built in 1865) is located in the southwestern part of the old village centre. Sometime after 1974 the church was converted into a mosque. Since a new mosque was built in the village recently, the building is now abandoned.
Athina, GR
The Agios Eleftherios church was built in the early 13th century. This date, however, is the subject of debate, some historians claiming that the church could be older (twelfth, eleventh, even eight centuries). This Byzantine temple was built on the ruins of an ancient temple dedicated to the worship of Eileithyia.
