Benthuizen, NL
This congregation was founded in 1985 when 2 elders and 1 deacon resigned from the local Reformed congregation at the end of 1985. In April 1986, another 30 members and 47 baptized members withdrew from the congregation. The withdrawal was related to concerns about lifestyle issues. After this group first met from December 22, 1985, in the auditorium of the new cemetery "Vrederust", they then moved into a temporary building on the grounds of the Municipal Works. On Tuesday evening, July 22, 1986, Rev. AD Muilwijk instituted the free Old Reformed Congregations here. Three office bearers were also confirmed. On February 4, 1987, the congregation was admitted to the church association of the Old Reformed Congregations in the Netherlands. In 1988, land was purchased for its own church building. This church building was built in 1991 with approximately 115 seats. The church building was officially put into use on December 14, 1991.

The building, in the province of Utrecht, is a municipal monument. After several years of wrangling over the zoning plan, the building has now been demolished. Only a few monumental walls remained. The community is growing and needs more seats. These will become available thanks to the new construction, even more than that. There are also sixty seats available in a new hall. The old church still contained asbestos. The new building will soon be heated without gas. The churchgoers will start using the building again in October.
