Oud Gereformeerde Gemeente in Nederland

Langbroek, NL

Hall church without tower. Extension 1984. Demolished except for a few walls in 2019. The church building of the old reformed community in the Netherlands in Langbroek is being renovated. The building, in the province of Utrecht, is a municipal monument. After several years of wrangling over the zoning plan, the building has now been demolished. Only a few monumental walls remained. The community is growing and needs more seats. These will become available thanks to the new construction, even more than that. There are also sixty seats available in a new hall. The old church still contained asbestos. The new building will soon be heated without gas. The churchgoers will start using the building again in October.

Oud-Geref. Gemeente in Nederland

Rijssen, NL

The origins of the congregation lie in 1838, when a Christian separated congregation was instituted. Via the Reformed Churches under the Cross (1846) and the Christian Reformed Church (1869), it became a free congregation in 1883 with the name Independent Christian Congregation. In 1922, it joined the Federation of Old Reformed Congregations. Eleven years later, in 1933, the congregation joined the Reformed Congregations. A minority remained with Rev. J. van Wier as a free congregation. In 1946, it joined the federation again, which merged with the Old Reformed Congregations in the Netherlands in 1948.
