The church of St. Mary Magdalene, commonly known as the Magdalene Church, was built between 1825 and 1829. At least two churches existed before the present church, one Romanesque and the other Gothic from the 14th century. Both churches were Benedictine priories dependent on the abbey of Saint-Sever. The present church was built on the ruins of the latter church, which collapsed on 10 April 1821.

The church of La Réal or Notre-Dame de la Réal was first consecrated in 1321. In 1381, this single-nave church, typical of the Southern Gothic style, housed an Augustinian priory whose abbot had the rank of bishop. During the Great Western Schism, Benedict XIII, the last Pope of Avignon, originally from Aragon, convened a council here in 1408. The church seems to have retained most of its original architecture from the first half of the 14th century.

Originally a seigniorial chapel, its construction probably began in the 11th century. An earthquake destroyed the vault in 1489, and it was the Marshal of La Fayette who restored it in the style of the time, therefore ogival. It was restored and enlarged again in 1860.

Small but nice church hall in a part of Nursing Home Wenckebach, which was built on the site of the old church of J. Stuyt , which was demolished in 1982 and which stood on Wenckebachstraat. At the main entrance there is a belfry with carillon and bell. In the side wall (Wenckebachstraat) there is a brick mosaic in the form of an image of the tower in memory of the demolished church. Out of use as Roman Catholic parish church early 2010; closing celebration Sunday 10 January 2010. Later (around 2015?) this church hall was put into use as "Eglise Des 5 Ministères", a church group of (among others?) Africans.

The Dominican friars have been present in Lille since 1224. The present convent, inaugurated in 1957, is a jewel of contemporary architecture. Classified in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments, it is the first religious building to be listed as "20th century heritage". The convent is the work of architects Pierre Pinsard and Neil Hutchinson.
