The former Franciscan monastery in Angermünde was probably founded in 1260. The abbey church, built in the 13th century, was the burial place of several noble families of the Mark Brandenburg. In 1543, with the Reformation, the monastery was secularized and left to decay. Between 1699 and 1788, the abbey church was restored and was partly used by the Huguenots as a Reformed church. The monastery buildings were destroyed at the end of the 18th century, and the church was renovated in the 19th century and during the Nazi regime. After German reunification, the monastery church was converted into an event hall.

After the first foundations, the building was rebuilt by Hubert de Vendôme and dedicated in 1025 (the lower parts of the nave date from this state). The current building, mainly from the 12th and 13th centuries, has several campaigns: the nave and facade were under construction in the 12th century, the transept in the 13th. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the chapels were added, and the side arrows were rebuilt in the 16th century. Restorations took place in the 19th century.

The only purely Anglican building in the west of France, the building was made possible thanks to the donation of the land by Mr. William Faber, and the generosity of many people including William Faber and Sir Philip Egerton. The orientation of the choir, to the east, was favoured to the detriment of a monumental entrance on the south side. The original building refers to the Anglo-Norman ogival style. However, its Latin cross plan, its granite rubble, its partly uncovered gables and its south porch are reminiscent of a Breton chapel. Saint Bartholomew's church boasts several particularly illustrious visitors who have come to pray within its walls: Agatha Christie, Edward VII, Lawrence of Arabia.

The Anglican Church of Patras, dedicated to St Andrew, was built between 1872 and 1878 for the flourishing English community during the time of the raisin trade in the city. The building was erected in the Gothic Revival style with granite stones and simple decoration.

The Anglican Church of the Holy Saviour is the only Anglican church in Latvia, built from 1853 to 1859. The church was intended for the English living in Riga, who used to go to the Reformed Church. The church was built in the neo-gothic style of red bricks, most of which were brought from England together with other building materials (especially sandstone).

The cathedral was built between 1110 and 1140 on the initiative of Girard II, Bishop of Angoulême, on the site of the old building that was burned down in 981. In the 19th century, restorations were carried out by the architect Paul Abadie. It removes the chapels added over the centuries, in order to restore the cathedral's "original" appearance. The bell tower is completely rebuilt and the interior is completely restored.

The Angyalföld Synagogue in Budapest is an Ashkenazi synagogue completed in 1908 by architect Lippòt Baumhorn. This brick building now serves as a sport facility.

The Chapel with its fresco decorations depicting scenes from the Passion had to be undertaken by Louis III of Anjony, lord of the place since 1526, to compensate for the fact that attendance at the parish church had become impossible for them after the assassination of the parish priest by the Tournemire family.

Ankenes church is an octagonal church from 1842. The architect of this wooden church is Ingebrigt Julin.

The history of the foundation of the abbey is globally unknown, a mention dating back to the 9th century has been made but is unreliable. A series of conflicts over the succession marked the abbey from the 11th century onwards. Numerous pilgrimages took place from the 12th century onwards. The abbey is destroyed during the wars of religion, only the Cathedral remains today.
