The Church of St. Benedict was built in the 15th century when Benedictine nuns settled on the present site to erect their church. After the Val di Noto earthquake in 1693, the complex was rebuilt from 1704 and completed in 1763 with work on the façade by Giovanni Battista Vaccarini and the interior decoration and fresco painting by Giovanni Tuccari. After the 1943 bombings that hit the building hard, the splendid frescoes painted between 1726 and 1729, largely covered at the end of the 18th century, resurfaced.

The church of St. Bruno bishop and martyr is the oldest Roman Catholic church in Giżycko. The design of the new church was prepared by the architect Martin Weber from Frankfurt am Main. The foundation stone of the church was laid on 23 August 1936. The church was built to commemorate the German soldiers killed in the First World War. The top of the pediment was decorated with a sgraffito by Theo Landmann. After the Second World War, the figures were covered with plaster.

The church of St. Chrysogone is a Romanesque church built in the 10th century, rebuilt and enlarged in 1175. It is currently the only remaining part of the former great medieval male Benedictine monastery that was located there. Construction of the bell tower began in 1485, but stopped in 1546 and was never completed. Next to the church are the remains of the medieval Benedictine monastery, which was rebuilt in the 19th century and then demolished during the Second World War.

The church of St. Clement and Panteleimon is a replica of the old church of St. Panteleimon, built by St. Clement of Ohrid in 863, demolished by the Ottomans. The construction of the present church was completed in 2002. In the northern outer part, traces of the Sultan-Mehmed (Imaret) Mosque, built there during the Ottoman period, have been left.

The church of St. Clement was built around 1200 and was greatly enlarged in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is dedicated to the patron saint of sailors, Saint Clement, and contains several model ships. In the 19th century, the right to put his name on some of the pew seats was sold, which can still be seen on several of them.

The Constantine and Michael Church (also known as the Romanov Church) was built in 1913 on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Tsarist Romanov Dynasty.

The church of St. Dimitri was built in the 18th century on the remains of a 16th-century church. The present building owes its present appearance to the renovations and extensions carried out between 1886 and 1894. Its bell tower dates from 1908. From the 18th to the middle of the 19th century, the church was also the Cathedral of Skopje, before the construction of the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.

The church of St. Dionys dates back to the 13th and 14th centuries. An excavation museum was built under the church on the Esslingen market square in the 1960s. It shows the foundations of the walls of the former churches, attested on this site since 777. The church's greatest treasure is the magnificent stained glass windows in the choir dating from around 1300.

St. Dorothea is a 14th century Gothic hall church, originally an augustinian hermits monastery, and then Franciscan. After the dissolution of the order in 1810, the building experienced a century of decay; the building was finally fully restored after the second world war.

The church of St. Duha stands on the southern shore of Lake Bohinj. The church and the bell tower were built in the Baroque style in 1743. The interior of the church was whitewashed during the renovation in 1981, although 12 frescoes were discovered there. On the external facade, on the east side of the presbytery, there is a large fresco of St. Christopher. The church has two bells.
