The church dates from the 18th century. It is of baroque style and medieval origin. Inside one finds three naves with side chapels. Those on the right dedicated to St. Roque and the Our Lady of Mount Carmel , the next to St. Pancracio and the Our Lady of the Rosary, then St. Cristóbal (patron saint of Alboraya) and St. Cucufate or Cucufato , followed by St. Francis of Assisi, and on the transept the Holy Christ of Providence, with the images of the Virgin and Saint John.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Archangel Michael is one of the oldest wooden churches in the south of Małopolska. Initially built in the 15th century, it was completely renovated and enlarged in the 17th century (bell tower, arcades, defensive rampart) after a devastating Tatar invasion. Abandoned after the Second World War, the building was restored in the 1980s and consecrated again in 2000.

The facade of the church, with its rich rose windows, echoes the Romano-Gothic outlines of the seat of the college in the old town. The church has five marble altars installed in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is a Serbian Orthodox church built between 1884 and 1886. For most of the Austro-Hungarian period, the church was used exclusively for the needs of the students and teaching staff of the seminary, which was built at the same time. In 1911 it became a parish church.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built between 1280 and 1320, and since the 13th century has housed a public school and library. In 1473 the "Studium Particulare" was founded in the church. The school, which was later also known as the Academy Chełmnoer, was run by friars from the Netherlands. In 1519, the church was designated as a collegiate church. In 1649 the church became a Marian church and from 1676 to 1825 it was administered by missionaries.

The neo-Gothic tower from the end of the 19th century (1893) is the highest church tower in Slovakia with its height of 87 m.
