Inkerman Cave Monastery of St. Clement

The Cave Monastery of St. Clement was founded in 1850 on the site of a medieval Byzantine monastery. There, the relics of St. Clement were kept, before their removal to Constantinople-Moravia and Rome by Saints Cyril and Methodius. The early Christians are supposed to have kept the relics in a cave, which could be visited only on the anniversary of St. Clements' death.

The Inkoo Church, dedicated to St. Nicholas, was built in three phases, the most recent of which is the origin of the present building. According to Markus Hiekkanen, the first phase dates from the 1430s at the earliest, the second phase perhaps from the second half of the 15th century, and the last phase probably from the 1510s. The bell tower was built next to the church in 1739-1740. The church contains the only surviving mural painting of "Dancing Macabre" in Finland.

The parish church of the city center is one of the oldest buildings in Pest. Built in the 14th century, it was restored in the 18th century after being seriously damaged by a fire. Converted into a mosque during the Turkish occupation (1541-1699), the church still has some traces of its brief conversion.

On the shore of Lake Pamvotis, the prosperity of the city of Ioannina grew as Constantinople started to decline in the 13th century. From this period, the nearby Ioannina island becomes an important monastic site, later respected by the Ottomans that invaded the territory in the 15th century. The occupants finish however to invade the island and destruct its buildings when the renegade Ali Pasha finds refuge there in 1822. Today, no less than seven monasteries can be found on the island.

The Iosefin Synagogue on Timişoara is an Orthodox synagogue built in 1910. The synagogue has undergone numerous restorations (1910, 1929, 1975, 1983, 2003). The brick building contains elements of Neo-Moorish and Neo-Romanesque style. It still serves as a synagogue.

Presumably, the Jewish cemetery of Irlyava was established in the 19th century. According to epigraphic data, it already existed in 1875. The cemetery was used presumably until WWII, although the most recent preserved gravestone dates to 1927.
