One of the oldest brick churches is in Ommelanden: the church was built in the late 12th century. It is Romanesque in origin but was partly renovated in the 19th century: the semi-circular apse was replaced by a flat wall. Inside there is a pulpit from 1654.

The church, formerly dedicated to Laurentius, probably had a predecessor founded by Liudger. The oldest part of from the present church dates from the twelfth century. The newer, eastern part from the thirteenth century and made of brick.

This simple hall church was built in the 13th century. There were many renovations and restorations. During the last restoration of 2005, the previously demolished sacramental niche was reinstalled in the eastern wall and provided with the Gothic crowning.

The original, late-Romanesque cruciform church and the free-standing tower were built at the end of the 13th century. During the Reduction of Groningen everything that reminded inhabitants of Roman Catholic worship was removed, except the piscina.

On top of the mound of the old village 'Granawurth' lies this late Roman hall church. On the west side the church has a large, 18th century saddle roof tower that replaced an older tower.

The church began as a tufa building around 1100. A few decades later, the church was extended to the west. A brick expansion followed in the 13th century. The five-sided chorus was added in the 14th century. The tower has also took shape in stages. It was built in 1200, raised in 1554 and restored in 1714 and 1885.

This three-sided closed 19th century hall church replaced its medieval predecessor. The top of the 15th century tower fell in 1815 and was replaced. Inside we see a printed wooden barrel vault and some beautiful tombstones, including one form 1498 with a copper shield.
