Roman Catholic St. Joseph Church from 1876. Sober single-nave neo-Gothic cruciform church with front tower. One of the seven churches that architect Pierre Cuypers built in Friesland. Interior largely from the construction period of the church. The windows were made by F. Nicolas. Single-manual organ with free-standing console from 1904, made by Joh. Hilboesen (Amsterdam).
In Heeg there was a medieval church dedicated to Christopher . In 1745 this church was replaced by a church with a dome tower due to dilapidation. In 1747 this church received stained glass by Ype Staak . In 1840 the church was demolished due to an increase in the church community, with the exception of the front church and tower, and replaced by the current three-sided closed hall church . The wooden facade tower was built in 1797 on the substructure from 1745. In the tower with a constricted spire hangs a bell (1616) by bell founders Johan Franciscus and Thomas Simon.
Church on Cemetery. In the Herv. Church baptismal font foot with cymbal (XVII). Organ with main work and upper work, made in 1869 by L. van Dam and Sons. In 1925 extended with a free pedal by Bakker and Timmenga that was maintained during the last restoration in 1988. Bell tower with bell by F. Simon and A. Overtin, 1624, diam. 98.5 cm.
