Helgen Church

The Helgen church is a long church dating from 1735. It was built on the same site as a former stave church, the Hælghinar church, built around 1200. The present church remained more or less unchanged until it was restored in 1868. The present tower was erected in 1875-76.

The Holla church is a long church from 1867. The building is made of brick, built in a neo-Romanic-Gothic style. The architect was P.H. Holtermann. The church was restored in 1930, for its anniversary in 1967 and in the 1990s.

Melum Church

The church in Melum dates from 1728 but a church has existed in Melum since at least 1354. In the 1720s, Frederick IV of Denmark chose to sell the churches in Lower Telemark, which had belonged to the Crown since the Reformation. At that time the church in Melum was in such a bad state that it had to be demolished. A new church was built by the locals, and in 1737 the church was sold. In 1854, the church finally became the property of the municipality.

Valebø Church

Valebø Church is a long church from 1903. The altarpiece is a copy of Adolph Tidemand's painting "The Resurrection" from the Bragernes church in Drammen. The organ was built by the organ factory of J.H. Jørgensen.
