Jelsa kyrkje
The church in Jelsa is said to have been completed in 1647 and to have replaced an earlier stave church on the same site. In the 1850s, the church underwent a major restoration and received a sacristy to the east of the choir and external table covers. In 1871 the west tower was demolished and replaced by a vestry and octagonal turret. In the 1950s the church was restored and much of the 17th-century interior and fittings were restored.
