As the only church in the province of Groningen, Fransum has a masonry brick pulpit from the Middle Ages. This lonely church is built for the Cistercian monks of Aduard.
The Gereformeerde Kerk Vrijgemaakt (Reformed Church Liberated) was built in 1951 and expanded in 1980 and 2003.
This church, located on a bank, is built on the foundations of its predecessor. The final form of this hall church, which was completed with a three-sided choir, was created in the new building (with old material) in 1729, as can be seen from the blue-glazed roof tiles.
