St Oswald's Church, Askrigg

St Oswald's Church is a Grade I listed building. The church was constructed in the 15th century. However, it began serving as a place of worship around the 12th century.

About this building

The church is considered to be one of the most impressive in Wensleydale. It had a battlemented tower, nave, and a chancel. It is built in the Late English Perpendicular style. A part of the church was rebuilt in 1770, namely the south aisle. The church also underwent restoration in the mid-19th century.
