Chiesa di Sant'Agostino alla Zecca, Naples

The church of Sant'Agostino alla Zecca, known simply as Sant'Agostino Maggiore, is one of the most important and large churches of Naples.

About this building

It was founded by Augustinian monks in the 13th century. It was rebuilt in Renaissance style after the earthquake of 1456. The entire complex was rebuilt between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries by Bartolomeo Picchiatti, Francesco Antonio Picchiatti, Giuseppe de Vita and Giuseppe Astarita.
