The Parochie van de Heilige Laurentius was originally built as a church of the Apostolic Society in 1953. Since 1993 it has been used by the Old Catholic Church. It is listed as a Municipal Monument of the Netherlands.
The Grote or Sint-Laurenskerk was erected between 1470 and 1518 on a site where churches had been built since the 10th century. The church, originally Catholic, became Protestant in 1573. It has had no religious function since 1996 and now houses a museum on the history of the building. The Grote or Sint-Laurenskerk contains the oldest church organ that can still be played in the Netherlands, dating from 1511.
The Kerk van Jezus Christus van de Heiligen der Laatste Dagen (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) is a modern church building completed in 1994. It belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or Mormon Church.
The Lutherse Kerk in Alkmaar is an Evangelical Lutheran Church built in 1692. It is listed as a National Monument of the Netherlands.
