Heilige Augustinus
Three-aisled neoclassical pseudo-basilica with tower with Romanesque superstructure, built in 1848-1849 by J. Dumoulin to replace a medieval church. Internally plastered barrel vaults. The most important inventory item is the statue group from around 1525 of Anna te Drieën by an unknown sculptor, named the Master of Elsloo after this group. Furthermore, some other 16th century statues, a pulpit from around 1800, originating from the St. Servaas in Maastricht, and two baroque side altars. Organ by Pereboom & Leyser from 1874. During the war, on 17 September 1944, the tower and roof were badly damaged by grenade fire. German soldiers were stationed there who used the tower as a lookout post against the English, who were rapidly approaching from Belgium. Tower damaged 1944, restored.
