Franciscan Abbey Church, Prenzlau

The abbey church of the Franciscans was built between 1235 and 1250, after the arrival of the Franciscans in Prenzlau from 1240 onwards. After the complex changed hands several times, the church was consecrated again in 1598 and was given the name Church of the Holy Trinity. From then on, the Lutheran congregation used the building. In 1735 the buildings of the surrounding monastery were demolished and only the abbey church was preserved. Around 1970, the monastery church was abandoned and became increasingly dilapidated. It was repaired and reopened in 1995.

St. Mary's Church, Prenzlau

St. Mary's Church, built between 1289 and 1340, is the town's landmark. This Gothic brick building replaces an old hall style church dating from 1235. In 1945, the church partially burned down. Since 1970, reconstruction has been in progress.

Former Monastery of Prenzlau

The former Dominican monastery of Prenzlau was founded in the 13th century and in 1308 it was already considered one of the richest Dominican monasteries in the Marche. In 1519, the monastery was damaged by fire, and a few decades later it was secularised. Since 1930, the monastery has been used as a museum.

St. Mary's Church, Pasewalk

St. Mary's Church is a hall church built mainly in the 14th century. From 1987 to 1994, the tower and the first yoke of the nave were rebuilt. The design of the façade was inspired by the medieval building that preceded it.
