Church of St. James the Elder and St. Nicholas, Chełmno

The Church of St. James the Elder and St. Nicholas was built in the 13th and 14th centuries as a Franciscan church. The year 1806 marked the dissolution of the Franciscan order and the conversion of the church into a civil building such as a grammar school in 1859.

Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Chełmno

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built between 1280 and 1320, and since the 13th century has housed a public school and library. In 1473 the "Studium Particulare" was founded in the church. The school, which was later also known as the Academy Chełmnoer, was run by friars from the Netherlands. In 1519, the church was designated as a collegiate church. In 1649 the church became a Marian church and from 1676 to 1825 it was administered by missionaries.

Chełmno Convent

The Chełmno convent is a 13th century Cistercian monastery, now run by Benedictine nuns. The monastery complex includes the Gothic monastery with the medieval treasury and cellar, the 13th century Mestwin tower, the hospital building, the convent garden and the Gothic church of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist (1290-1330) with the crypt of Abbess Madeleine Mortęska .

Collegiate Basilica of St. Nicholas, Grudziądz

The Collegiate Basilica of St. Nicholas was founded in the 13th century. From the mid-16th century until its end and again during the Swedish flood (1656-1659), the church was evangelical. In 1896 a complete renovation of the façade in the neo-gothic spirit took place, the interior was given new polychrome and stained glass windows. During the war, in 1945, the church suffered heavy losses. The reconstruction took place in the years 1946-1949.
